What Makes CLC Different

The Only School for the Blind and Visually Impaired

In 2020, Nevada Blind Children's Foundation opened the first school in Nevada specifically for children who are blind or visually impaired. We started with our preschool class and only grew from there from opening our Dots & Tots classroom to having a pre-k class as of Spring 2024!

Our school provides curriculum that is adapted to a VI students' needs. Children's Learning Center is staffed with teachers equipped to help give your child the best education possible. Our classrooms have gained recognition for their excellent standards in curriculum, assessments and teacher education.

Quality Rating Improvement System

Children's Learning Center has continuously recieved a 4-star quality rating since its opening in 2020. In 2024, that streak continued when we earined a 4-star rating again.

School vs. Daycare

Children's Learning Center does not offer daycare services. CLC programs are focused more on the education piece in addition to getting students used to the routine they'll experience in Kindergarten. CLC utilizes Teaching Strategies as our core curriculum and incorporates expanded core curriculum and The Oregon Project curriculum for VI students specifically. In addition to services such as learning pre-braille skills with our TVI and getting more O&M instruction, students are getting prepared for the next step in their educational journey.
