Donor Spotlight: Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco & Clark County Credit Union
From First Connection to Lasting Impact
When Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco, in partnership with Clark County Credit Union (CCCU), stepped through our doors, they didn’t just see a facility – they witnessed the transformative power of adapted resources and specialized programs that change lives. Their recent visit to NBCF marked the beginning of a meaningful partnership that demonstrates the incredible impact of community-focused financial institutions.

“From the moment we began to work with Nevada Blind Children’s Foundation, we knew there was something unique about the work that they do in our community,” shares Shannon Hiller, Chief Marketing Officer at Clark County Credit Union and founder of CCCU Cares, the credit union’s volunteer arm.
“Assisting in the application for the well-deserved Federal Home Loan Bank’s AHEAD grant has been a great experience for our team and then learning that Nevada Blind Children’s Foundation earned $100,000 was one of the best days for all of us at CCCU.”
Champions of Life Skills
The partnership’s cornerstone contribution of $100,000 exemplifies their deep commitment to building brighter futures for children who are blind or visually impaired in Southern Nevada. This generous support directly impacts our life skills program, ensuring our students receive the essential training they need to navigate daily challenges and build independence.
A Thanksgiving Celebration
Clark County Credit Union also invested in sponsoring two cherished NBCF traditions: our overnight Fun Friday: Friendsgiving event and annual Thanksgiving luncheon celebration. During these events, our students showcased their growing independence and life skills by preparing a magnificent Thanksgiving feast from start to finish. From perfectly roasted turkey to all the traditional trimmings, each dish represented a triumph of culinary achievement and personal growth.
The annual Thanksgiving luncheon brought together our entire NBCF community, made even more special by the dedicated volunteers from Clark County Credit Union who gave their time and energy to make the event truly memorable. Their involvement went far beyond financial support, demonstrating a genuine commitment to our mission and the families we serve.

Thanks to CCCU’s sponsorship, the impact extended far beyond the event itself. Nine NBCF families received comprehensive Thanksgiving food baskets, ensuring that every family could enjoy their own holiday feast at home.
A Future of Possibilities
The enthusiasm for future involvement is clear, as Hiller notes, “We look forward to volunteering and assisting in the future, well beyond the Friendsgiving event. We know these grant funds will help build up the individuals we serve and their families.”

This support from Federal Home Loan Bank of San Francisco and CCCU represents more than just funding – it’s an investment in the future of children who are blind or visually impaired in our community. Their contribution ensures that NBCF can continue providing essential life skills training and creating inclusive spaces where every child can thrive.
