Family Education Series – April 23rd
April 23 @ 5:00 pm - 6:00 pm
Cost: No Cost
Join us as we meet to discuss various topics relevant to families of children with visual impairment. The sessions will be led by Raquel O’Neill, Licensed Clinical Social Worker and President & Program Manager of Blindconnect and Angela’s House here in Las Vegas.
Raquel herself battled progressive vision loss from congenital cataracts and glaucoma. Blindness did not stop Raquel, instead, it pushes her to find ways to educate and help others facing visual impairment. Raquel has worked as a vocational rehabilitation counselor at state services to the blind, and a technology assistant through Easter Seals teaching blinded Veterans computer skills. She also worked as a disability specialist at both CNS and UNLV to provide equal access to college-aged students with a variety of different abilities.
Raquel lives a daily example of empowering others to see every potential that life may hold. “Vision is seeing with your heart.”
