From Pen to Performance: Sing Me a Story Turns NBCF Student’s Stories into Songs
Sing Me a Story is a non-profit organization that collaborates with musicians and songwriters to transform stories written by children into songs. Recently, NBCF students were lucky to enough to have their creativity showcased in a musical way.
Students were asked to write a creative story. These stories were then sent to Sing Me a Story to be turned into songs. Each one captures the spirit and imagination of the child who wrote the original story. Some went with a more classic theme, like The Princess and the Frog, while other’s opted for a more modern story about online games with their friends. Each one is unique, sometimes silly, and most certainly creative.
Rather than summarize each song and story, we encourage you to listen to the music for yourself! You can listen to each of the stories written by NBCF students and produced by Sing Me a Story through their website and donate to the songs. Donations are split between Sing Me a Story and NBCF. You also get an MP3 of the song when you donate!
