Invest in Teachers. Empower Blind Students.

Greetings,
You may have heard—Nevada Blind Children’s Foundation recently lost critical state funding, creating a $500,000 gap in our annual budget. While we are not closing our doors – our after-school programs will continue – this loss forces us to make painful cuts, including placing our preschool program on hold.
This preschool is the only one of its kind in Nevada, serving children who are blind or visually impaired. It requires licensed educators and specialized staff—positions that cannot be filled by volunteers. And unlike private schools, our families do not pay tuition. Every student receives a scholarship.
We’re not asking for supplies or equipment. We need your help to keep our expert teachers employed and to meet the licensing and operational requirements needed to reopen this essential program. And to continue providing critical services for students like three-year-old Emma. Who, after a year of seeking other avenues of therapy with no results, found NBCF. Emma’s progress at NBCF has been exponential in the short month she has been receiving our services. When she came to NBCF, she was nonverbal and could not walk. Now she is humming her favorite songs, recently said her first word, “no,” and is learning to walk.
