K-12 Education

We understand the difficult choices families are facing and we would like to help.  To that end, NBCF will be expanding its programs and services to provide a full day, Monday – Friday, learning environment for our students AND their sighted siblings, who are participating in distance learning.  Classes will be socially distanced, following CDC and Health Department Guidelines at all times.  Based on enrollment numbers, students may be segmented into different classes by school level to keep class sizes low and properly distanced.

NBCF will provide all meals and snacks – breakfast, lunch, dinner, and two snacks daily.  NBCF will infuse its regular programming throughout the course of the day so all students will receive adaptive rec/p.e., music, independent living classes, etc. throughout the week.  Sample days are provided below.  These are based off of the sample day’s provided by CCSD for Cohort C (distance learning only). Frequently Asked Questions

YES.  NBCF is not providing the curriculum, just helping children to access their online classes, understand the material, and complete their homework.  NBCF will work with your child’s teachers.  Please note, when CCSD does move to their partial on-site/at home program, students participating at NBCF will have to be online only (Cohort C).  This is for the safety of all students so we’re not exposing them to multiple school environments.

YES.  Once you have registered to participate with NBCF, you’ll need to notify your school and/or providers to change their service site to NBCF and have them reach out to Maribel Garcia to arrange days & times for service.  All therapies will be delivered in NBCF’s therapy/sensory room – away from other students.

NBFC will infuse its regular after-school programs throughout the course of the day and after online school is completed.  Every child will have an opportunity to participate in music, adaptive p.e., art, independent living skills classes like cooking, etc.

NO. Parents are responsible for getting their child to and from the center.  Paratransit can be a great option if families are unable to drive them.

Sort of.  Just like you, COVID has impacted NBCF.  The expanded hours and additional cost to ensure a safe environment for all students is a cost NBCF did not plan to have this year.  We are asking families to make a weekly donation (at any level) to help with the costs.  We realize not all families are in a great spot right now – so we’re asking that each family give what they can.

YES.  NBCF will be open from 7a.m. to 6p.m. daily.  Extended hours before and after will be available for a fee of $5.

NBCF is following all guidelines from the CDC and Southern Nevada Health Department.  For a full list of protocols, please refer to NBCF’s COVID-19 & Communicable Disease Policies & Procedures.  Parents will be required to review this document and sign a liability waiver prior to a child being able to participate.
