As we dive into 2024, NBCF is excited to introduce some new members of the NBCF family. Bringing diverse backgrounds and unique talents, we all share a passion in creating a brighter future for our students. Join us in welcoming the latest additions to our team!

Ms. Kelley | Assistant Preschool Director 

Kelly is a seasoned professional with more than 30 years experience in the field, and extensive knowledge in overseeing preschool operations across multiple locations. With expertise in planning, organizing, and maintaining preschool programs, she excels in ensuring smooth day-to-day operations. She is adept at managing teams, overseeing operations, building maintenance, purchasing, inventory control, and human resources.

Kelly is committed to providing a safe and nurturing environment for young children. She holds a BS Degree in Human Sciences and has completed certifications in Business Administration and Education Administration Programs, making her a valuable asset to any preschool team. 

Ms. Kirsten | Preschool Paraprofessional

Kirsten brings vibrant energy and a passion for fostering meaningful connections to her role as a new preschool paraprofessional at CLC. With a background marked by seven years of childcare experience, Kirsten is adept at tailoring lesson plans to meet the diverse needs of her students, including those with Individualized Education Programs (IEPs) or behavioral 504s. She has honed her ability to craft engaging lesson plans while ensuring every child’s educational journey is supported.

Kirsten is a committed educator who continually seeks new ways to enhance curriculum effectiveness and collaborates with her colleagues to make it happen. CLC can anticipate Kirsten’s dynamic approach to teaching, fostering an inclusive and enriching learning environment where every child can thrive.

Mr. Greg┃Orientational & Mobility Instructor

Greg is NBCF’s new O&M instructor working with children on their mobility and cane skills Greg was born and raised in New York, and he moved to Connecticut for his first orientation mobility job for the Veteran’s Association. His first experience working with children was as an O&M instructor for CCSD working with children of all ages. He has a Master’s Degree in Orientation & Mobility, an undergraduate degree in Business Education and Marketing and brings with him 46 years of experience in O&M.

Greg felt inspired to bring his experience to NBCF, wanting to help students develop their skills and watch them grow. 

Ms. Nayally┃Paraprofessional

Nayally, also known as “Ms. Jelly” by her students, is currently the paraprofessional in our preschool classroom. Originally from San Diego, Nayally has embraced Las Vegas as her home for the past 5 years. With a rich background spanning a decade in law practice and 16 years as a renowned multi-artist and entrepreneur in entertainment and fashion, she dedicates her company to personal development and nurturing the artistic potential of children.

Around age 7, she began to to help care for her younger brother who had Down Syndrome. She gained a passion for childcare and children’s personal development. Now she’s expanding her credentials, focusing more on the academic level for children. Nayally’s transparent demeanor and vibrant personality reflect an unwavering commitment to positive energy. Enjoying the collaborative and heartwarming environment at NBCF, she’s excited to contribute to our team’s dedication in child education.

Ms. Sara┃Preschool Cook

Sara, originally from California, has called Nevada home for the past 8 years. Currently working at NBCF for two months, she is an Early Childhood Education student set to complete her college journey in August 2024. Sara brings unique experience from her role as a substance abuse group facilitator at a nonprofit organization in California.

Motivated by a desire to make a positive contribution to society, she found her place at NBCF. Engaging with diverse people and personalities is what Sara finds most intriguing about her work at NBCF. Beyond her professional life, Sara is a multifaceted individual—she’s a skilled cake decorator, a budding crocheter, and enjoys the therapeutic art of painting by numbers.

Ms. Amy┃Paraprofessional

If you’ve been part of any of our programs or events in the last year and a half, chances are you’ve crossed paths with Amy! Initially, our dedicated volunteer, Amy transitioned from being a rockstar volunteer after completing her church mission with NBCF. Discovering her passion for working with students and embracing our mission to empower children with visual impairments, Amy has been a babysitter for various families and served as a church leader prior to joining NBCF.

Although she has volunteered for different organizations through her church, this marks Amy’s first position with a non-profit organization. Beyond work, she finds joy in baking, family game nights, and collecting snow globes from her travels. We’re thrilled to officially welcome Amy as a staff member at NBCF!

Ms. Amanda┃Paraprofessional

Amanda, originally from Oakland, California, relocated to Las Vegas in June 2023 when her partner entered the Kirk Kerkorian School of Medicine at UNLV. Holding a biology degree with a minor in public health from the University of Nevada Reno, she brings valuable experience from her time at the SPCA of Northern Nevada. Amanda is passionate about advocating for underprivileged minority populations and contributing to the life skills development of students.

She finds joy in the boundless curiosity and creativity of the children at NBCF. She’s also found she loves spending time with Issac, our resident gecko. Beyond work, Amanda, a dedicated animal lover, having spent five years fostering dogs when she was younger. In her free time, she enjoys the therapeutic benefits of hiking and the creative satisfaction of building and refurbishing furniture.

Ms. Lily┃Administration Intern

Meet Lily, originally from Kenya, who journeyed to Vegas in July 2019 to be with her spouse. Currently pursuing Business Office Administration at Nevada Career Institute, Lily joined the NBCF team in early January as part of her externship to complete her course. She brings 5 years of administrative assistant experience from St. Ann’s College in Kenya, followed by 2 years as a sales assistant at Zhuo Heng Building Ltd and 2 years as a supervisor at Nywele Creative.

Certified as a Nursing Assistant (CNA) and a certified medication Technician, Lily is now seeking a new experience in the non-profit sector, inspired by NBCF’s mission to support students with visual impairments. In her free time, Lily enjoys concerts, watching sports, and playing board games. We’re thrilled to welcome her to the NBCF team!
