Sharon Braddy-McKoy is Senior Vice President/Chief Human Resources of Southwest Gas Corporation. She is responsible for strategic oversight and direction of all aspects of Southwest’s Human Resources, Corporate and Administrative Services, and Real Estate and Facilities Departments. Sharon manages the Company’s workforce initiatives, including recruitment, learning and development, health and well-being, diversity and inclusion, and employee engagement and recognition.

 

Sharon is focused on workforce transformation which enables the Company’s most valuable assets, its people, to readily contribute to our organization’s business strategy. Through thoughtful leadership, differentiated talent models, purposeful talent development and retention, and building a culture of engagement, agility, innovation and inclusion, Sharon leads the development and execution of HR strategies and programs for the Company’s workforce of over 2,200 employees. Sharon’s responsibilities also include providing the highest levels of customer service to internal customers by building and maintaining robust, sustainable, and productive facilities company-wide.

 

After joining Southwest in 1998 as a Human Resources Analyst, Sharon held many positions of increased responsibility in the Human Resources department. In 2012, the centralization of the company-wide Human Resources organization resulted in her promotion to Director/Corporate and Division Human Resources Compliance. She was named Director/Human Resources in 2013 and was promoted to Vice President/Human Resources in 2015 and her current position as Senior Vice President/Chief Human Resources in May 2022.

 

Sharon holds a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Administration from the University of Nevada, Las Vegas, and a Master of Arts degree in Human Resources Development from Webster University. She serves on the Board of the University of Nevada, Las Vegas Office of Diversity and Inclusion Advisory Board, the Corporate Work Study Committee of the Cristo Rey St Viator College Preparatory High School and the Nevada Blind Children’s Foundation. Sharon recently established a local chapter of Blessings in A Backpack, a non-profit which provides kids with a backpack filled with satisfying and nutritional food to take home on Fridays to guarantee hunger-free weekends.
