Nevada Blind Children’s Foundation to Host Goalball Game for Children with Visual Impairments

WHAT: Nevada Blind Children’s Foundation (NBCF) will host its first-ever Goalball game on Saturday, Sept. 24. Goalball is the most popular sport for people with visual impairments, designed specifically for them. Similar to soccer, teams of three compete against each other, throwing a ball embedded with bells and trying to score goals on the opposing team. The game is often played indoors, and all players are required to wear a blindfold to level the playing field. This means all players are required to use their other senses to play. The game is played on a court marked heavy court tape with string underneath for tactical boundaries. While this game is designed for players who are visually impaired, sighted peers are welcome to play as well. The event is free to NBCF students, their families, and all interested community members.

WHEN: Saturday, September 24, 10 a.m. – 12 p.m.

WHERE: The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-Day Saints, 303 S. Cholla St., Henderson, NV 89015
